Surgery removal of sagging skin after weight loss. Pros and Cons?
My relative is planning to get one after he loses 100+ pounds. If it comes down to the point where he needs surgery to remove sagging skin, what are the pros and cons of it?
I know some of the cons include scars and possible danger in the surgery. How long does the scar usually last? and exactly what is the procedure? recovery time?

Any surgery is dangerous.
Do I understand that he is losing weight now? Exercise will prevent much of the sagging skin. Tell him to check out everything Richard Simmons has done. (He has books and cook books-not just exercise videos) I know, people make fun of him, but he is the best at wanting the best for people and he talks about preventing the sagging skin. Basically-exercise your butt off and lose weight slowly so your skin can recover.
There may also be creams and lotions, etc, to check into.
Bottom line, save surgery as a last resort-not the first choice!
