First, drink tons of water while trying to lose the weight. This will help give your skin the elasticity it needs to bounce back….Some of the skin may be unavoidable, but if you do weight/strength training while you are trying to lose the weight, you will help save some of your muscle from being burned up with the fat that you are losing. The more muscle that you save, the better you will look when you reach your goal. You might seem to lose weight a little slower, but you will look lifetimes better, rather than being 140 pounds lighter, but still flabby. If you are a pear shape and you lose 140 pounds (including muscle) then you will just be a smaller pear shape. If you build muscle, then you will change the shape of your body drastically (in a good way). Also keep in mind that if you are losing more than 4 pounds a week, then you are probably losing a lot of muscle with the fat. You may have big weeks, but a lot of that will be fluid that you were retaining.
Good Luck
probably the only way to get sagging skin is if you lose weight to quickly.
the best thing you can do is eat right and exercize and lose weight at a regular healthy pace. it is almost gauranteed that you will have some saggy skin because of the large amount of weight lose, but losing weight at a fast rate will make it worse as the skin does not have time to adjust to the weight lose, thats why so many people you get the surgery end up with massive amounts of skin.
Do not lose to fast and do your exercises. Make sure you also take multivitamins to help with some of the foods you will be giving up. Take it slow, hang in there, you can do. Good Luck.
Everybit helps. I took a stretch and tone class religiously for a year and a half. It was twice and week and I made the commitment to give it my all. Diet and exercise is the hardest thing to stick too. Make sure you have a workout buddy or friends you meet at the gym.
A multivitamin is a great recommendation.
Never give up!
