40 yr old woman looking for cheap but good facial products ?
I’m turning 40 next month and as all women my age, i’m scrutinizing every wrinkle and scowling at my crappy complexion. I have fairly light skin with the classic T zone and combination oily and dry skin. I’d like to get a good cleaning and anti-aging regimen going for 2009 and would like some advice on what are good products that are over the counter but not going to cost me a fortune (talking no more than per product) and what kind of regimen I should follow. Any advice is appreciated. I’ve done some research already but would like some other thoughts.

Hi khyoung6:
I am 52 years young, and I started a regime 4 years ago I wish I had started at your age or sooner.
I am a soap maker and have done some research myself. I have settled on a pure olive oil unscented soap for my face. It rocks! It is made with only olive oil which encourages normal production from our oil glands, doesn’t clog pores, and gives a protective layer from the harsh environments we deal with everyday. It is not expensive, and when taken care of, lasts longer than any commercial bar.
Also, I make an herbal oil with 6 skin rich herbs that are kind to maturing skin and prevent premature aging, as well as a load of skin rich oils, emu oil, and jojoba that sinks it in fast and takes all the goodness 6 skin layers deep.
Whipped butters are good on the face, too, if no wax is used in the product, and if they are unscented. I make one unscented and two with essential oils in them.
I, too, had concerns. I love the results.
